We don’t write because it’s hard.

None of us were born with the innate ability to read or write. It’s a learned skill, not a natural one. As with anything that requires learning, it takes work to do it well.

Often, we choose the path of least resistance, staying in the shallow ends of broad generalizations, vagueness, and conformity.

I want to encourage us to dive into the deep waters of profound thinking, understanding, and discovery.

Yes, writing to think is hard. And yet, it is necessary for us to create the beautiful future. Writing will transform you and impact others.

“Writing is thinking. To write well is to think clearly. That’s why it’s so hard.” - David McCullough, Two-time winner of the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award

“We human beings were never born to read; we invented reading and then had to teach it to every new generation. Each new reader comes to reading with a ‘fresh’ brain - one that is programmed to speak, see, and think, but not to read.” - Maryanne Wolf
